I’m Mamen, a photographer whose career has been tied to wedding reportage since I opened my studio in Jaén in 2002. My work as a Jaén wedding photographer grew from a passion that began at 16 and was strengthened by studies in Photography and Fine Arts and a master’s in Lighting and Design. That blend of artistic sensitivity and technical mastery allows me to deliver wedding photography with a distinctive personality. I define my approach by seeking the honesty of the moment: natural, emotive images full of meaning. At every wedding I aim to empathize with the couple to understand what they want and to contribute my experience, mixing the spontaneity of documentary-style reportage with subtle direction when needed. I’m meticulous and constantly evolving: I continue to push myself and give my clients 100% of my best craft. Lighting is a core element of my signature. Thanks to specialized training, I attend to the light in every scene — from preparations to the last celebration — to enhance atmosphere and emotion. This results in clean photographs with good contrast and a vision that highlights both intimate details and the grand moments of the day. My working method is personable and organized. Before the wedding I usually meet with the couple to learn their ideas, define key moments and plan logistics. During the event I strive to be unobtrusive in spontaneous moments and attentive to gently direct portraits and family photos when required. After the session I perform a careful selection and processing, applying my quality standards and self-critical eye so that each image conveys what you experienced. In addition to wedding reportage, my Jaén studio offers complementary sessions such as engagement/pre-wedding shoots, as well as social and family photography.
