I’m Carlos Rodríguez and I have spent more than fifteen years dedicated to wedding photography. From my studio in Gijón —open since 2004— I deliver wedding reportage that not only document a day, but tell your story with naturalness and care. My aim is that, when you look at the photos years from now, the emotions return with the same intensity. My approach to weddings rests on two pillars: naturalness and trust. I avoid impossible poses and repetitive shots; I prefer to create a relaxed atmosphere where spontaneous gestures, laughter and authentic glances take centre stage. On the big day I act as a close witness: attentive to details, discreet when necessary and ready to gently direct a scene when it helps. This way of working allows you to be yourselves and for the reportage to reflect the essence of the day. Engagement sessions are an essential part of my process. They are the best way to break the ice, get to know me and learn how to bring out your best without pressure. During an engagement session we choose locations, test discreet poses and build the confidence that makes everything flow naturally on the wedding day. Many clients tell me the engagement session transformed their attitude in front of the camera and greatly improved the final result. My experience has taught me to narrate a wedding as a sequence of moments: intimate preparations, the ceremony, meetings with your loved ones and those unexpected instants that come to define the memory. I work with a mix of documentary wedding photography and small couple-directed proposals to achieve variety and coherence in the album.
