Raúl Martín

I’m Raúl Martín, a wedding photographer based in Gijón, and my work grows from a deep passion for real stories. I was raised by the sea, and that calm, close-eyed perspective shows in every wedding I shoot: I aim to capture authentic emotions, spontaneous gestures, and the everyday poetry of your day. After more than a decade devoted to weddings, over 300 couples have trusted me to preserve their memories. I define myself as a specialist in wedding photography, with a documentary and emotional approach. I prefer to remain unobtrusive when the ceremony requires it and to move in sensitively when an intimate moment appears. The result is natural photos, without forced poses, that convey how each moment was actually lived. I work with available light and the locations of Asturias, taking advantage of the beauty of Gijón and its surroundings to deliver images with character. What is it like to work with me? Before the wedding I usually have a friendly conversation to get to know each other: we talk about your story, the flow of the day, and your expectations. During the shoot I aim to create a relaxed, trusting atmosphere; many couples tell me I help them forget the camera and live naturally. Throughout the day I combine documentary observation with small directions when needed, always respecting complicity and spontaneity. In addition to photography, I offer wedding videography as a complement to the photo reportage. Although my main focus and specialty is wedding photography, I integrate video when couples want an audiovisual keepsake that reflects the emotions and sound of the day. My work stems from the same curiosity with which I started shooting with a Fujifilm at 16: a love for people, for nature, and for sincere moments.
