I’m Juan Boado, a wedding photographer in Bilbao (Bizkaia). My approach focuses on telling your day exactly as it is: natural, sincere and without forced poses. I specialize in documentary wedding photography; my aim is for you not to be aware of the camera so that, when you look at your photos, you reconnect with the real emotions of the day. If you’ve ever said “we’re not really into photos,” we’ll probably be a perfect fit. My working method starts with preparation and creating a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Whenever possible, I like to get to know you before the big day because the human connection is key to making you feel comfortable and to capturing who you really are. I offer engagement (pre-wedding) sessions so we can meet, you can become familiar with how I direct, and the wedding day can flow naturally. Many couples find an engagement session extremely useful: it relaxes, builds trust and produces soulful images. In the wedding reportage I prioritize emotion and the fleeting moments that rarely repeat: looks, gestures, unexpected hugs, the complicity with family and friends. I work with discretion and judgement, knowing when to step in and when to fade into the crowd to capture those genuine images. My style favors natural light, tasteful use of black and white when it fits, and editing that enhances the narrative without artifice. I like to describe myself as a photographer of beautiful weddings because, for me, what matters is immortalizing true moments that move you and endure. Alongside sensitivity, I bring technical experience and organization: I plan timing, locations and lighting so there are no surprises. I travel throughout Bilbao, Bizkaia and the rest of Spain when couples need me.
