I am Rafael Pradas, the person behind Acontraluz Weddings, and my work as a wedding photographer in Ciudad Real is born from a need: to tell stories with the heart. I consider myself an artist-photographer; my training in Fine Arts and my affinity for painting and design shape my vision, but the human connection always comes first. When I press the shutter I aim to capture what is felt more than what is merely seen. My approach is clear and specialized: wedding photography and engagement sessions (pre-wedding and post-wedding) with a documentary and aesthetic style. I seek spontaneous instants—those looks, gestures and silences—and I compose them carefully so each image functions as an emotional witness of the day. For me, aesthetics come after finding the truth of the moment; the priority is that couples recognize themselves in their photographs. I work in a close and calm manner: before the wedding we talk at length, we get to know each other, I listen to what matters to you and I explain how I want to tell your story. On the day, my presence is discreet but attentive; I try to ensure guests feel natural and confident so emotions can flow. Afterwards, I edit each photograph with care to respect the atmosphere we experienced and to turn the reportage into a legacy that moves you today and years from now. Although weddings are my specialty, I also shoot engagement sessions and, occasionally, projects for families and businesses—always maintaining the same documentary and artistic sensitivity.
