I'm Miks Sels, a wedding photographer based in El Raval and a traveler by passion: Italy, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Greece and my beloved Latvia all feature on my calendar. I specialize in wedding photography — that is my professional priority — and my work arises from a blend of documentary approach, editorial aesthetics and a film-like sensibility. I look for real moments, natural light and compositions that last as genuine memories, not merely posed images. Why choose my work? Because I see the wedding as a whole: I’m the “see-the-whole-room” guy. I enjoy capturing the full story — the knowing glances, the stolen laughter, the beautiful chaos of the day — with a modern, bold and minimal perspective. I shoot without flash whenever possible; I prefer to use natural light until the end and I trust speed and intuition to catch the decisive moment. I use Nikon cameras and, from time to time, 35mm film to honor the origins of the craft and to add a distinct texture to some images. My working approach is simple and personal. Before the wedding we connect: we talk about the plan, the key locations and how you feel in front of the camera. On the wedding day my presence is discreet but attentive: documenting without interfering, guiding respectfully during couple sessions and making quick decisions when light or the moment require. If desired, I work with a small team (photographers and assistants) and I regularly collaborate with videographers to complete the visual story. I value honesty and good vibes: no arrogance, only images that bring back the emotion of the day. Beyond weddings, I also shoot portrait and family photography, and I offer video and aerial footage as secondary support to the main wedding reportage.
