I am Luis Paterna, a wedding photographer with more than ten years documenting couples’ stories across Spain. My work focuses on creating artistic, original and—above all—natural wedding reportage: no forced poses or obligatory smiles. I believe in photography that lets you be yourselves, in relaxed images that convey the emotion of the moment as it happens. My approach is based on observation and closeness. I work with an authentic, attentive style, combining a documentary narrative with creative portraits when the occasion calls for them. Before the wedding, I like to meet the couple and understand how they live and celebrate so I can tailor the reportage to reflect their personality. I use a detailed questionnaire to help organize the day and anticipate key moments without interfering with the event’s natural flow. I’ve had the privilege of documenting over 250 celebrations, which has allowed me to refine an agile and respectful methodology: discreet during the ceremony and the most emotional moments, and more direct during couple sessions if you want more creative images. I shoot with professional equipment and offer album options and packages that complement the main reportage, carefully editing and presenting the final work so each photograph preserves the aesthetic that captured your heart. My work has been recognized by leading wedding portals and I have received distinctions that endorse the quality and consistency of my style. Although weddings are my specialty, I also offer pre-wedding/engagement sessions as a complement to the reportage: they’re an excellent way to practice, lose camera shyness and obtain intimate images ahead of the big day.
